DeuxPlus et Compagnie

an interview with the founding members

L'Ensemble DeuxPlus et Compagnie is an Anglo/French ensemble of experienced musicians, singers and instrumentalists, based in Poitou Charentes, France. The group have a varied repertoire from early to contemporary music.

Their album "Pèlerinage" features songs of the pilgrims of the middle ages drawn fom the Cantigas of Alphonse X, King of Spain, "The Wise," and the 'Llibre Vermell,' 'the red book,' discovered at the Shrine dedicated to the Virgin Mary at Montserrat, Spain. These songs are contrasted with both secular and sacred works from the Italian Renaissance and Early Baroque periods.

Roger Miles went to interview the founding members of the ensemble, and to hear some of the songs from "Pèlerinage".
